Triple Crown Restaurant

Location: Close to the Chinatown gate in Chicago.

Parking: There is street side parking, but no valet parking. The restaurant offers 3 hours of parking at the Chinatown parking lot for $2 with validation.

Service: The service here is slow. You have to be patient as the waiters take their time. However, they were attentive and know exactly what we received and what we were still waiting for.

Food quality: It is an Asian restaurant but they also have seafood, soup, beef/poultry/pork/vegetable platters, casserole, noodles and fried rice. We ordered different dumplings such as Tripple crown shrimp dumpling, vegetables dumpling, and shrimp & chive dumpling (the dumpling texture is soft and taffy), steamed BBQ pork bun (I love it, the bread is soft and sweet and the pork tastes really good), deep-fried taro puff (it’s crispy), fried tofu crepe (taste a lot at tofu), puffy egg custard tart (It is a sweet-tart with a slight egg flavor), and shrimp roll (it was delicious). It’s an “OK” different type of food. It is not incredible but you can enjoy it. There is a list of dim sum items for you to choose from.

Price: It is quite economical for the quality.

Atmosphere: Typical normal and loud Chinese restaurant. You do not need to go well dressed.

Recommendation: Go early! It’s a pretty busy restaurant. You have to be willing to try different dim sum flavors.

Address: 2217 S Wentworth Ave, Chicago, IL 60616.
