Venezuela a land with many things to explore

Hello dear reader, let me introduce myself. My name is Mary Rosy, born and raised in a wonderful country called Venezuela. Unfortunately, my country is not going through the best economic, social, and political situation currently, but I have many wonderful things to share about my country. Venezuela is a land with a unique tropical climate. We have beautiful beaches and cold mountain ranges, as well as extensive plains and jungles.

For those who love to explore, Venezuela offers you many wonderful landscapes. Below are some of the most touristy places in my country.

El Salto Angel (Angel Falls): It is the highest waterfall in the world with a height of 979 meters. This immense waterfall is located in La Gran Sabana (Bolivar State). There are two ways to see this majestic creation of nature. The first is through a plane (Fly through the Angel Falls) and the second is through a ground trip of 3 hours sailing, then 2 hours walking through the jungle to reach the top viewpoint of Santo Angel. A true adventure!

In La Gran Sabana, you can also visit other places such as El Tepuy Akopán (or Acopán), Roraima, Kavac, Salto Kamadac, Akopan Tepuy, Uruyen, among others.

Parque Nacional El  Ávila (“El  Ávila” National Park): This park offers you a unique view of the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. It is more than a majestic mountain range in a sense that you feel peaceful through the touch of nature. You can use the cable car or drive through the mountain range in offroad Jeeps. When you arrive at the Avila park, you will find many things from restaurants to small street shops. The weather is usually cold here.

Los Roques: This beautiful archipelago is located in the Caribbean Sea. Without a doubt, this place is truly a natural beauty. Its waters are completely crystal clear beautiful blue color. It’s a completely touristy place which can only be reached by air or sea.  The great majority of lodging (no hotel only inns) are located in the Gran Roque and from there, there are boats that take you to all the islands in the surroundings. La Cienaga: A true place to appreciate nature and crystal clear waters only a few feet deep, this swamp is a perfect place to bathe in. This cienaga is located in Aragua state. You can get to this place by sea, but be careful because the sea is very choppy. You will find some places to eat while enjoying the wonderful view of this swamp.

Isla de Margarita (Margarita Island): This beautiful island is located in the Nueva Esparta state in the northeastern of the country in the Caribbean Sea. In the Nueva Esparta state, you can also go to Coche and Cubagua islands. For those who love the ocean, beach, and delicious seafood, this is a perfect place to spend a few days.

Parque Nacional Mochima (mochima national park): It is made up of a set of islands and mountains. This park is located on the maritime coast of Venezuela between Sucre and Anzoategui states. To get to some of the beaches, you must go to the different piers in the area to take a boat.

La Colonia Tovar (cozy and romantic place): This town is located in the Cordillera de la Costa north of the Aragua state and is a really charming place that used to be occupied by a group of settlers from southwest Germany. The people of this small town still keep many of its ancestral traditions, such as language, meals, clothing, dances, and architecture, etc. A large part of the products sold there are handmade crafts. When you visit this small city, you’d feel like you are in another country.
