12 places to visit in and around West Palm Beach.

West Palm Beach is one of the three largest cities making up the South Florida region. This beautiful city offers you an incredible and relaxing tropical atmosphere.

1. West Palm Beach Downtown

One of the first places you can visit in the downtown is Rosemary square (city place), a shopping mall that contains more than 60 restaurants, shops, apartments, and condos with a touch of upscale lifestyle. The architecture is mixed with Mediterranean and Venetian elements. I consider it one of the best places to go enjoy your family, with your partner, or just by yourself.

Hopping on and off the free downtown West Palm Beach Trolley, you can explore the downtown area where you will find different restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, boutiques, a beautiful Flagler park, and a waterfront.

2. Palm Beach Outlets.

For shoppers, this is definitely the must-go place. Not only for great prices and promotions but also for the tranquility and comfort that this place offers. Unlike the big outlet in Orlando, this place has a large parking lot, so you don’t have to waste hours trying to find a place to park. There are popular stores and brands such as Ross, Tjmax, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Puma, Old Navy, Aldo, Coach, Hurley, Kay, and Nautica among many others.

3. Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens.

An incredible museum and garden whose mission is to  “engage a diverse audience by presenting Japanese cultural experiences that educate and inspire” (https://morikami.org/). Located in Boca Raton, this place will surprise you with the peace and tranquility. This place has a park features such as nature trails, pine forests, picnic area, a garden with different types of plants and animal species, strolling paths, resting areas, world-class bonsai collection, and lakes. A place worth visiting!

If you are looking for a quiet place to meditate, you can visit the picnic area (free). If you want to visit the Japanese garden, the tickets prices are adults – $15, seniors – $13, and children – $9.

4. Riviera Beach.

This is one of the most “comfortable” beaches I have visited in Florida. It has a quite large and FREE parking and you will find different bars, restaurants, and surf shops. It has a playground for kids, bathrooms, tennis courts, picnic area, and area for sand sports such as beach volleyball.  The clarity and color of seawater will impress you. I recommend visiting this beach because it is one of the best in the area.

5. Henry Morrison Flagler Museum.

An elegant, extravagant, and luxurious mansion, known as the Whitehall. This mansion was one of Henry Flager’s houses in West Palm Beach and it was the wedding present for his third wife Mary Lily Kenan. After Henry Flagler and his wife Mary Lily died, the mansion was sold to some investors who turned it into a hotel (1925-1959). In 1959, the mansion was bought by Henry Flagler’s granddaughter who turned this beautiful mansion into a museum.

Ticket prices: Adult admission $18 (18 years old and older); Youth admission $10 (13- 17yrs); Child admission $3 (6-12 yrs), and children under six are free.

The perfect place to go with your children. The zoo is not that big but it has enough animal exhibitions and attractions for children. The zoo is located on the same street as the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. If you want to know more about this place, check out my post A tour of Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society.
