A beautiful old city located northeast of Florida ideal for people of all ages. St. Augustine offers fun for everyone, from bars and restaurants to pirate shows for children.

St. Augustine also has a variety of churches for the religious crowd to visit.
Do you need to rent a car?
Not really, most of the attractions are in the city, however, there are some places not so close that you can Uber to. The main city area can be explored by walking or by car. Another way to get around the city is through guided tours. There are many pay parking lots around the city (for around $10 to $20 all-day parking) or you can park on the street (cheaper) maximum 2 hours meaning after 2 hours, you must reload the meter.
You will not regret visiting St. Augustine. Any time of year is good but, if you want to really enjoy the best views of this city, I recommend around Halloween or Christmas holidays when the street decorations are really beautiful with lights.
1 day is enough for major attractions, but if you want to visit as many places as possible, I recommend 2 days. In 2 days, you can cover almost all the places.
Where to stay?
There are a lot of hotels in the city that you can choose. We stayed in one 30 minutes from St Augustine for a cheaper rate.
Ghosts ???
Oh yeah…ghosts!!! St. Augustine is a very old city with the presence of ghosts and paranormal activities. For those who like to witness paranormal activities from the beyond, there are many ghost tours you can participate in St. Augustine.
Places of interest.
Flagler College.
A private art school with beautiful architecture and stunning garden. Outside and the entry area is open to the public.
Castillo de San Marco.
An old fort built in the year 1672. According to many locals, the ghosts of the wars often appear in this fort. You can visit the fort for free, but if you want to go to the top level of the fort, the ticket is around $15 for adults (cheaper for kids’ tickets).
Black Raven Pirate Ship.
They do tours for children during the day, but they also have adult tours in the evenings. The tours usually last 90 minutes approximately and the ticket prices depend on the show type and audience age (starting at $20 to $34). There is a bar inside the boat where you can buy alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Lightner Museum.
I recommend visiting the beautiful garden inside this place (free admission). Art lovers can visit the museum for only $15 general admission, child (0-11) free, youth (12-17) $8, and senior (65+)/active military/college student $12.
St. Augustine Distillery
This was my favorite part of the trip haha!. For those of us who love trying new drinks, you have to make a stop at this place. First, the tour is completely FREE and it’s so much fun. Second, you can try 3 different cocktails completely FREE. Third, you will learn about how they make their liquors. Finally, you have the opportunity to buy different types of local liquors in the store.
St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.
Visiting lighthouses is me and my boyfriend’s travel tradition. This place is not suitable for people afraid of heights. The tower has 219 steps which is a real exercise, but hey, it is worth climbing. The view from the top of the tower is stunning. For entry, you have to buy a ticket, adults $12.95, seniors (60 & over) $10.95, and children (Age 12 or under and 44″ or taller) $10.95. For more information about schedules and events Visit Website

Whenever I visit a new city, I love going to local churches to admire the architecture of these churches regardless of their denominations. I believe that God is everywhere. To my surprise, St. Augustine has many churches from different denominations.
