Ivy at the Shore

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Location: Perfectly located near the Santa Monica Pier in California.

Parking: Valet parking, street parking, or in any paid parking lot around the area. We parked on Santa Monica Pier parking lot across the street.

Service: Not very good. The waiter was not nice and unfortunately, I felt watched the entire time I was in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I sat outside and there was nobody else in the restaurant. The waiter never stopped looking at everything my boyfriend and I did. We didn’t have any moment of privacy.

Food quality: It is an American restaurant. We ordered huevos rancheros (homemade corn tortillas, eggs over easy, black beans and mesquite-grilled tomato and tomatillo salsas) the tortillas were so delicious and fresh, the black beans taste really homemade food (I love it). The bread that the restaurant serves is also very good. I cannot say the same about the drinks though. We ordered 2 Tattinger with fruit and they really are not very good.

Price: Expensive. We spent $86 plus tip on 1 plate and 2 drinks. So think twice if you really want to eat here because it is not that of a unique restaurant.

Atmosphere: Very nice. You can sit indoor or screened outdoor. We decided to sit outside and I loved it, except for the waiter watching us.

Recommendation: Park in Santa Monica Pier parking lot or on the street. Do not visit this place if you want to drink a few drinks. There are better bars at better prices.

Address: 1535 Ocean Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
